Being fashionably late is one thing that in my opinion is a) disrespectful b) unnecessary c) an insight into one's lack of self-confidence d) an absolutely ridiculous nonsense.
When you are dating, being fashionably late is an absolute NO NO!
If there is 1 thing that will definitely help derail your dating efforts, it's not turning up on time - bad time-keeping stinks.
And the simple deterrent for ensuring you don't ever act this way, is just to think back to the last time you were waiting for somebody and they were at least 20-30 minutes late. Re-experience that annoyance and this will be all you need as your guide.
Now of course, being 5 or even 10 minutes late is within the realms of acceptability, but once you get past the 15 minute mark, be prepared for your date NOT to start on the best footing.
So, in order to avoid that scenario and therefore get your date off on the right footing, here are some simple tips to ensure you get to where you are going ON TIME EVERY TIME...
- Know exactly how to get to your dating venue - if need be look on a map
- At least the day before, find out how long it will take to get to you venue via your chosen method of transport
- Again, at least the day before, check out the train or bus times if you are intending to use public transport and aim to get the bus or train that will get you to where you need to be 15-20 minutes early. All it takes is for there to be a single cancellation or an extra bit of traffic and all of your plans will go awry
- Find out if there are any planned engineering works that will disrupt any train journeys
- If you intend to drive, then find out where you can park beforehand and check for any parking restrictions at your intended time of arrival
- Prepare your outfit the night before and that means choosing it AND ironing it.
When you take these steps, you're going to feel so much more in control and calm when you turn up for your date. This is definitely the best state of mind to be in.
Good luck!
