To help keep your date interested, intrigued and excited by you, try to avoid spilling the beans of your life on the first few dates.

You see, what will make you extra attractive to your date is having a slight air of mystery about you.

Now when I say an air of mystery, I don’t mean that you should totally make things up and pretend to be someone you’re not. I mean to not always give all the details to certain questions, or to be deliberately vague on certain issues. In particular you want to employ this tactic when being quizzed about more personal aspects of your life.

You also want to try and throw in some teasers every so often like “I’ll tell you more about that the next time we go out” or, “I couldn’t possibly tell you about that on our first date, you might think I was a naughty boy/girl and that might ruin the perfect image you have of me!” – you get the idea. And always try and follow these teasers with a cheeky smile and a swift change of subject, you’ll find it works wonders by creating a sense of anticipation in your date.

When the more intimate details of your personality and life experiences are yet to be discovered by your date, they act as a carrot to their curiosity and they will want to find out more the next time. If you were to totally spill the beans in the first hour of meeting them, however,  that carrot is never dangled and a great incentive for them to continue dating could well be lost.

So just take your time when spilling the beans – let things out a little at a time and keep that air of mystery alive.
